What it is A popular alternative browser (Firefox) has released another security release of it's software. To date Firefox has had 40 security releases, 10 of which are critical. This patch fixes a critical security problem which could give external applications access at the shell level in Unix, as well as fixing a buffer overflow problem (similar to past problems in IE), as well as a couple of minor functionality fixes. Firefox strongly recommends that all users of their software upgrade to this new version, regardless of operating system. What should you do If you do not have firefox installed, you don't need to do anything. If you do and you are using a version of firefox older than 1.0.7 (you can check the version from the help/about menu item), you should immediately upgrade to 1.07. You can obtain the new release from www.getfirefox.com . Be sure to check the release notes at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/1.0.7.html for instructions for installing on your OS.
