Welcome to the Viruswarning forums. All your original content has been ported to the new forums as well as new content and additional opportunities to interact with the authors of Viruswarn.com. You can always access old content at www.leedrake.com/forum . You may find some formatting was lost in the conversion and the older versions of the posts to be more readable....
But at least it's all here.
Enjoy!

What Is It?
You may be wondering why it's been a good while since we published a VirusWarn notice. The reason is simply that there hasn't been much to write about. If our Windows users have been following our recommendations, Automatic Update has been enabled, and your machines stay patched up, all on their own.
However, in light of an almost unprecedented announcement made today by the U. S Department of Homeland Security, we think it is prudent to remind you to check your settings.
What Should You Do?
- All Windows users should visit the Windows Update Web site periodically and accept any critical updates that you are offered. While you are there, check the notice in the upper right corner of the screen to confirm that Automatic Update is enabled. You should do this every few months, even if you have Automatic Update enabled, because the updates occasionally fail. This happened to my wife's computer just two days ago. The Windows Update site is at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.
- If you have Microsoft Office 2000, you should also visit the Office Update Web site, at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx, as there are several critical updates for Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
