Welcome to the Viruswarning forums.  All your original content has been ported to the new forums as  well as new content and additional opportunities to interact with the authors of Viruswarn.com.  You can always access old content at www.leedrake.com/forum .  You may find some formatting was lost in the conversion and the older versions of the posts to be more readable....

But at least it's all here.

Enjoy!

This information is in addition to that posted earlier today by Brett Rabideau. If you have McAfee VirusScan version 4.x installed, you can get an update at: http://vil.nai.com/villib/newlove.asp The information on this page mostly duplicates what Brett said. Scroll down to the portion that says "VirusScan 4.x" where you will find several links within the body of the paragraph. The file at the first link is automatic and will automatically install a special file that will scan for this new worm. After the file downloads, double-click the file to run the program, click Next, let the program run, then click Finish. This worm is extremely dangerous. If it runs, it will try to overwrite every file on your system in such a way that recovery is impossible. GENERAL CAUTION Be aware that there can be more than one dot in a Windows file name. It's the letters after the LAST dot that counts! Be careful with any message that contains an attachment that you are not expecting, even if it's from someone you know. One of the things that makes these worms so dangerous is that they arrive in a message from someone you know! Lee Drake, Moderator
